Executive Management
Geoffrey S. M. Hedrick
Chairman
Geoffrey S. M. Hedrick serves as the Company’s Chairman of the Board since November 2007. Previously he has been our Chief Executive Officer, a post he has occupied since he founded IS&S in February 1988. Prior to 1997, Mr. Hedrick served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Smiths Industries North American Aerospace Companies. He also founded Harowe Systems, Inc. in 1971, which was subsequently acquired by Smiths Industries. Mr. Hedrick has more than 35 years of experience in the avionics industry, and he holds a number of patents in the electronics, optoelectric, electromagnetic, aerospace and contamination-control fields.
Raymond J. Wilson, C.B.E.
Chief Executive Officer
Raymond J. Wilson joined IS&S’ Board of Directors in February 2007 and was named Chief Executive Officer, Designate in June 2007. On November 30, 2007, Mr. Wilson became Chief Executive Officer of the Company and continues as a member of the Board of Directors. Previously, Mr. Wilson was employed as an independent Aerospace Manufacturing Consultant from January 2004 to June 2007. Mr. Wilson in the period from January 2001 to January 2004, served on the Executive Committee for Airbus S.a.s. and was also Executive Vice President for Procurement. From September 1997 to January 2001, Mr. Wilson was Managing Director for Airbus U.K. as well as a member of the Airbus Executive Board in the three years prior to the formation of Airbus as a company. As part of New Year's Honours 2004, Wilson was honored by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II as a Commander of the British Empire (C.B.E.) for his services to the Aircraft Industry. Wilson is a graduate of Napier University in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Roman
G. Ptakowski
President
Roman G. Ptakowski has been our President since March 2003.
Prior to joining IS&S, Mr. Ptakowski was employed by B/E
Aerospace, Inc., a global supplier of aerospace products,
where he served as Group Vice President and General Manager.
Previously, Mr. Ptakowski was General Manager, Protective
Relay Division of the ASEA Brown Boveri Power T&D Company,
Inc. Mr. Ptakowski received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering
from New York University and a M.B.A. from Duke University.
John C. Long
Chief Financial Officer
John C. Long joined IS&S in 2008 as the company's Chief Financial Officer. He brings more than 20 years of senior financial management experience to IS&S. Most recently, he served as Vice President – Treasurer and Secretary of Arrow International, a NASDAQ-listed international medical device manufacturer, where he was responsible for senior corporate finance duties. Prior to this, Mr. Long served as Controller for a diversified holding company, and was responsible for directing all aspects of the company’s financial reporting, IT systems development and support, acquisition activity, and tax management. He is a Certified Public Accountant and began his career providing accounting and consulting services at a large regional accounting firm. John received his MBA from Columbia Business School and his B.S. in Accounting from Wilkes University. He currently serves as Chairman of the Audit Committee and Financial Expert of the Board of Directors of D&E Communications. He previously served on the Board of Directors of American Bank, Inc.
Brian
Urbanski
Vice President of Quality
Brian Urbanski has over 16 years of Quality Control experience
in the Avionics industry. As a certified Master Black Belt,
Brian manages all Six Sigma projects, and is functionally
responsible for IS&S software test engineers (V&V),
process engineers, quality engineers and production inspectors.
Prior to joining IS&S in 1999 as Vice President of Quality,
Brian was site Master Black Belt for Raytheon Corporation,
and as Technical lead, was functionally responsible for all
process engineers and test engineers (11) in the final assembly
and test area. As Project Engineer and Technical Excellence
Black Belt for Allied Signal, he successfully utilized the
Six Sigma toolset to reduce cycle times, reduce variation,
and increase yields on numerous programs resulting in estimated
savings in excess of $1M/year.
Shahram
Askarpour
Vice President
of Engineering
Shahram Askarpour joined
IS&S in 2003. He was instrumental in leading the team
that received FAA certification of the first IS&S Large
Flat Panel Cockpit Display. Prior to joining IS&S, Shahram
held Managerial and Engineering positions with companies such
as Smiths Aerospace, Instrumentation Technology and Marconi
Avionics. Shahram has more than 25 years of industry experience and
has designed a variety of avionics products such as VHF radio,
GPWS, Doppler Radar Systems and Cockpit Displays. He holds
a BS in Electrical Engineering from Middlesex University,
England, a MS in Systems Engineering, and a PhD in Electrical
Engineering from Brunel University, England. He has also trained
in SEI CMM at Carnegie Mellon University.
Robert M. Hyland
Vice President of Operations
Prior to joining IS&S in 2007, Bob Hyland was the Director of Operations for the Power & Data Systems Business Unit AMETEK Aerospace and Defense Division which develops and manufactures fluid management systems, flight deck displays, and flight inspection systems. Previously he was the Director of Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement for AMETEK and holds a Master Black Belt certification. He worked at General Electric for 10 years prior to joining AMETEK. Bob Hyland has earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from the Pratt Institute of Technology and an MBA from Xavier University.
