Exton, PA.—October 1, 2003—Innovative Solutions

entered into an exclusive distributor agreement with ABX Air
(OTC/BB: ABXA) to pursue DC-9 aircraft RVSM (Reduced Vertical
Separation Minima) certification business. The agreement couples
an ABX Air developed turnkey installation approach for DC-9
RVSM certifications with Innovative Solutions and Support’s
proven RVSM compliant altimetry equipment.
Innovative Solutions and Support’s
President, Roman Ptakowski, today said the agreement provides
DC-9 owners and operators with a single point of contact for
a proven RVSM solution. The turnkey approach offered by ABX
Air and ISSC, along with RVSM certification through AeroMech,
Inc. features full compliance with minimum downtime. Installations
can be performed at ABX Air facilities or remote locations.
RVSM compliance requires highly accurate, independent sources
of altitude information for operation between flight levels
of 29,000 and 41,000 feet. The ISSC Air Data Display Unit,
designed with retrofit installations in mind, provides the
required precision and increased in service reliability.

contract for Solid State Barometric Altimeters (SSBA) for

The United States Navy has selected Innovative Solutions and
Support (ISSC) to replace Horsepower Indicators on its fleet
of P-3 airplanes. This “quick response” award
is valued at more than $2 million and provides for immediate
equipment replacement on the Navy’s P-3 airplanes.
The Navy award increased the Company’s
total backlog to $40 million of which more than $25 million
is released and scheduled for delivery in subsequent periods.
The P-3 “Orion” is a four engine
Tubro-Prop airplane with the primary mission of tracking submarines
as part of the United State’s anti-submarine warfare
(ASW) initiatives. The US Navy, US Customs and numerous foreign
governments use the P-3.

The United States Air Force, Tinker
Air Force Base, OK, has selected Innovative Solutions and
Support (IS&S) to replace the central air data computers
(CADCs) in its fleet of A-10 “Warthog” aircraft.
All USAF A-10 aircraft (approximately 370 a/c) will be upgraded
with form fit and function Central Air Data Computer (CADCs)
using high stability sensors and state of the art surface
mount electronics that greatly increase system reliability,
and enhance mission preparedness. IS&S has previously
designed and developed a Solid State Barometric Altimeter
(SSBA) for the A-10 and other military aircraft.
The A-10 is a twin engine, low altitude
ground attack aircraft used in a close air support mission.
Because of its design and mission, the avionics products are
called upon to withstand extremely high vibration, shock and
High Intensity Radiated Fields (HIRF) levels.

Global 767 Tanker Transport Program
Boeing Military Aircraft has selected
Innovative Solutions & Support, Inc. to supply flat panel
displays for its Global Tanker Transport Aircraft program.
IS&S will design and manufacture the Pilot's Mission Display
(PMD) as well as the Aerial Refueling Operator Control Display
(AROCD).
The PMD will provide selected video information directly to
the pilots on the flight deck while the AROCD will provide
refueling management and control information to the refueling
operator.
This multi-year agreement will include a minimum number of
airplanes and is valued at approximately $10 million. In addition,

to Build Replacement for Rockwell Collins Air Data Controller
Innovative Solutions and

to develop a replacement for the Collins 590 air data controller

The National Aeronautics
and Space Administration (Washington, DC) has selected Innovative

in its fleet of T-38 astronaut flight training aircraft. NASA’s

Wins RVSM Contract to Upgrade Pan Am’s 727 Fleet
Pan American World Airways
(Portsmouth, NH) has awarded a $3.8 million contract to Innovative
Solutions and Support (Exton, PA) for upgrading its entire
727 fleet of 22 aircraft to meet the new Domestic Reduced
Vertical Separation Minima (DRVSM) standards. This installation
will take place over the next two years and for each aircraft
will include the following new instrumentation: two digital
air data computers, two altimeters, and an altitude alerter.
Pan Am has also decided to upgrade its mach airspeed indicators
to standardize its fleet with modern, higher reliability IS&S
units. IS&S equipment uses state-of-the-art sensors and
electronics that will provide trouble-free primary air data
to the Pan Am cockpits for the life of the aircraft.
The actual installation of the RVSM equipment has been subcontracted
by IS&S to STC holder Aircraft Systems and Manufacturing
Inc. (ASM), of Georgetown, TX. ASM will also be creating a
new STC and installation for the mach airspeed indicator.
The 727 fleet RVSM certification STC is held by Aeromech Inc.,
of Everett, WA, and has also been subcontracted for the Pan
Am program.

Canada Awards IS&S Contract to Upgrade Three 737s to DRVSM
Innovative Solutions and Support (IS&S) will be upgrading
three Boeing 737 aircraft with Air Canada (Dorval, Quebec)
to meet Reduced Vertical Separation Minima (RVSM) standards.
Air Canada is the first customer in North America to install
the IS&S 737 RVSM product. A European certification was
accomplished last year. An aircraft will be upgraded starting
in August 2002 and will be outfitted with one digital air
data computer (DADC), one air data display unit (ADDU —
combined air data computer and altimeter), one altimeter,
and one altitude alerter. The IS&S equipment uses state-of-the-art
sensors and electronics. In addition, the ADDU will simplify
the retrofit for dual air data sources where only one DADC
existed before.
Installation of the RVSM equipment has been subcontracted
by IS&S to the equipment STC holder, Aircraft Systems
and Manufacturing Inc. (ASM), of Georgetown, TX.
